Coaching Bio
Mark has spent countless hours honing his skills on the technical granite of the Sierras. He’s also travelled the world climbing some of the hardest and most prolific boulder problems, including: Amandla (V14) in Rocklands and New Baseline (V14) in Magic Wood.
Mark brings with him over a decade of professional coaching experience and is excited to share his knowledge with the Benchmark community.
What is your coaching philosophy?
Efficiency: climbing is a combination of many small improvements which lead to progression. My goal working with clients is to help everyone find these details, then find a structure to implement them.
What can clients expect?
We’ll start by reviewing your climbing experience and setting long and short term goals. During our sessions, we’ll focus on movement, beta, tactics, and technique. We’ll predominantly shoot video of you climbing and then spend time reviewing and analyzing the footage. In addition, we’ll spend time building a broad understanding of training programing and how to balance recovery and progression, focusing on themes and strategies which can be implemented into a variable and busy life. For those interested, we’ll also include strength conditioning exercises.
Pricing
Contact Mark for pricing. Please note that non-Benchmark members must also purchase a $15 discounted day pass to access the facility. Day passes can be purchased at the front desk the day of your session.
